Musical comedy starring Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Mary Hatcher, Olga San Juan, Alan Ladd and Barbara Stanwyck. The plot of the film revolves around two young women, Catherine Brown (Hatcher) and Amber La Vonne (San Juan), who come to Hollywood with dreams of stardom. Though Catherine is genuinely talented and Amber something of an opportunist, this is not reflected in their success at auditions. The girls repeatedly switch identities, causing further confusion for the powers that be at the Variety Club and Paramount Studios and leading to a number of slapstick interludes.
