Sir Frederick Ashton’s ballet was based on Alexandre Dumas’ story of tragic courtesan and is set to Liszt’s fiery Sonata in B Minor. Here French ballet stars Sylvie Guillem and Nicolas Le Riche play the leads whilst Francoise Ha Van directs, during a mid-summer tour of Japan in 2003.
