Adrien Fournier (?ric Caravaca) is a handsome young officer in the French army who returns from service in the First World War with a horribly disfigured face. He is sent to recover in military hospital amongst other young men injured by the war, and slowly, in their company, he begins to regain his sense of self-worth. However, the biggest challenge will be to learn to face the outside world again.
